Welcome to Numismatica.

Numismatica is the online mag and blogsite of alphaNumis, the banknote, coin and stamps specialist. We provide all things in this space; from collectables, to all sorts of accessories, books, even advice and consultancy.

A bit history of our company - it is about 1 year ago that the name alphaNumis was first thought of as a company and brand name for our business. As the name suggests, the phrase "numis" is derived from the term "numismatics".

According to Wikipedia's definition:

"Numismatics is the study or collection of currency, including coins, tokens, paper money, and related objects. While numismatists are often characterized as students or collectors of coins, the discipline also includes the broader study of money and other payment media used to resolve debts and the exchange of goods."

So bankntes and coins are what we do, but we don't stop there, we are also into stamps too.

As for the "alpha" part of our name - it is the first Greek alphabet and written as "A" in uppercase and  "α" in lowercase. In English, alpha is synonymous to "beginning" or "first", reflecting its Greek roots.

Combined, the words "alphaNumis" means the first and the beginning for all things in numismatics and philately. Our company logo has the alpha as the main part and the "n" on the top right side indicating the numismatics part, in mathematics it indicates "exponentiation", which we hope to develop a collectors' community that will grow exponentially in terms of knowledge in the areas of numismatics as well as membership.

We have setup our Facebook pages about a year ago and has since built a strong following of more than 1,000 likes so far. Members who "LIKE" the site will get the latest updates and happenings in the world of numismatics. Many of our members have also bought items from us through this channel.
