A brief analysis of BNM's inaugural auction on 27 Sep 2014

This is a quick run down on the statistics and a brief analysis of the BNM auction yesterday. The are base on the UNOFFICIAL results of the auction. I do hope MNP will publish the realized prices soon so that further analysis can be done.

I wish to thank friends and fellow collectors who shared the realized prices with me for the afternoon/evening sessions especially Dickson Niew and Lim Chee Choong, since I had to leave Sasana Kijang at 2:00pm.

Please note that KN Boon’s book 7th edition (2014) only  covers up to the 11th series banknotes for low and super solids, that is the only reference point as of now. It is the 12th series that is being auctioned off yesterday and this is the closest comparison thus far. I am looking for numbers from other regional auction houses for similar items in the past 12 months. Contributors are most welcomed !

Duration      :   7.5 hours [Start 11:00am, Finish 6:30pm]

Total Lots   :   231

Total Realized Value : RM1,172,800 (excluding Buyers' Premium of 15%)
