It's bound to happen. It is only a matter of time.
Late last year, a collector acquired 2 pieces of banknotes graded by alphaNumis decided to cut them out from the plastic slab and send it to PMG for grading, just to compare our grading skills/competency, which in our honest opinion, is a good thing. As consumers, people have every right to compare products and services. As a service provider, it's good feedback and opportunity to learn and improve.

We have no comment on the first one but for the second one, we graded it at 40 without XPQ because base on our observation, the surface quality has been impaired due to the major folds. This matter does make an interesting debate on the issue of EPQ / XPQ. After all a grade in an opinion of the grader as to the condition or state of preservation of the banknote. In this case, our opinion is quite close compared to PMG's.
Anyway, we are very honored that our work is being compared to that of the biggest third party banknote grader on the planet! Having said that we will continue to improve our grading quality and it is our hope that one day, we may reach PMG's level.
If you have any feedback or views or would like to know more about our grading service, please do email us at help@alphanumis.com OR you use the grading request form.
Happy Collecting !
